Mission Carthage

Mr. Carlton H. Shamburger is the owner of Hawthorn Funeral Home in Carthage, Texas. He was born in Ruston, Louisiana and grew up living throughout Texas and Louisiana. He was schooled in Shreveport, Louisiana and graduated from Huntington High School with the class of 1980. He attended Louisiana Tech University majoring in business and active in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Carlton came to Carthage as a graduate of the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service with honors and distinction. He and his wife Karen have three children, all graduates of Carthage High School. The Shamburgers have lived in Carthage for over twenty years and are active in their church and community events. 

Jennifer started serving at Mission Carthage in January 2008. She and Tim have been married for over 30 years and have 4 wonderful (grown) children. She has served alongside her husband in ministry for many years. She loves to sing, and loves the Lord.

Carrie is married to Aaron and is the mother of 3 children. She loves to serve others and has a compassionate heart. She began at Mission Carthage as a volunteer and in September of 2019 she began working as Benevolence Administrator and is now the Administrative Assistant. She is a member of Woods New Hope Baptist Church in Tenaha, TX.
