Mr. John W. Boland is a disabled Air Force veteran honorably discharged. A retired CISD teacher, he continues to teach as an adjunct professor in political science & speech at LeTourneau University & Kilgore College. He has extensive experience in the inner workings of government, administration, and private business.
As an author he has written two books, "Workplace Evangelism: Taking Your Faith to Work"; and "Understanding God's Will: The Difference Between Knowing & Doing".
As a speaker Mr. Boland as made presentations before groups from 5 to 5,000 on various subjects (from the secular to sacred), diverse audiences (from the DAR to bureaucratic organizations) and venues (from grade schools to large corporations).
As a student of political science Mr. Boland has been in both national and Texas state political circles. He has known every Texas governor from Dolph Briscoe to Ann Richards. Has been actively recruited for office by both parties. He has been involved in political campaigns at all levels. Mr. Boland was privileged to be included in the group known as “LBJ’s boys” at Southwest Texas State University. A period of time when the late president would visit the campus and mentor the political science students prior to his death.
Dr. Grant is married to Lynn Grant. He graduated from Henderson High School in 1973, Texas A&M in 1977 and Baylor College of Dentistry in 1981. He moved to Carthage in 1982 and opened his dental office. He and Lynn have three children, all Carthage High School graduates, and three grandchildren.
Aaron Bequette has lived in Carthage, TX with his wife, Melissa for over 20 years. They have raised their two children, Sarah and Andrew in this community and love life in this wonderful town. Aaron has served as pastor of Northside Christian Center and Administrator for Northside Christian Academy for 12 years, and has also enjoyed ministry as a Hospice chaplain for seven of those years. He is a graduate of LeTourneau University with degrees in Aviation and Management. He has served on the Board of Mission Carthage for over 3 years and enjoys having a part in this wonderful ministry.
Mr. Carlton H. Shamburger is the owner of Hawthorn Funeral Home in Carthage, Texas. He was born in Ruston, Louisiana and grew up living throughout Texas and Louisiana. He was schooled in Shreveport, Louisiana and graduated from Huntington High School with the class of 1980. He attended Louisiana Tech University majoring in business and active in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Carlton came to Carthage as a graduate of the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service with honors and distinction. He and his wife Karen have three children, all graduates of Carthage High School. The Shamburgers have lived in Carthage for over twenty years and are active in their church and community events.
Rev. Keefe Cropper is the Senior Minister of the First United Methodist Church in Carthage, Texas. He graduated from Westchester High School in Houston, Texas and studied at University of Texas at Tyler.
Janet has been the Executive Director at Mission Carthage since May of 2008. She and Arnold have been married for over 50 years and have 2 grown children and 2 wonderful grandchildren.
Jennifer started serving at Mission Carthage in January 2008 . She and Tim have been married for over 25 years and have 4 wonderful children. She has served alongside her husband in ministry for many years. She is an active church member, loves to sing, and loves the Lord.
